FAQ

  • How hard is the Advanced Online Exam?

    The Transport Canada Advanced Small RPAS exam requires 80% as a passing grade, with 50 multiple-choice questions and a 60-minute time limit. The exam is open-book, but you can't have a human being help you. (How good of a drone pilot is your dog, anyway?)

  • Do I actually need Advanced certification, or is Basic “good enough”?

    If you only fly in wide-open fields, far from people, airspace, and clients, Basic may be fine. If you want access to controlled airspace, closer operations, or commercial work that pays reliably, Advanced is usually required.

  • Can I just study on my own and book a flight review?

    You can, but many pilots discover too late that their SOPs are incomplete, their procedures are unclear, or they are not ready for a live evaluation. That usually means re-booking, re-paying, and re-studying.

  • What happens if I fail the Transport Canada Online exam?

    You can rewrite it. The goal of the bundle is to reduce the chances that you need to. We've had customers tell us they've made several "cold" attempts on the exam and then passed it with flying colours after taking our courses.

  • What if I buy it and realize it is not for me?
